Glossy, Lustre and Watercolor Giclée Prints
Jeremy King Photography uses Bay Photo exclusively because they use high quality inks and papers. They use only professional photo papers so that you always receive the longest lasting and highest quality photographic prints available.
Glossy prints are a great choice if you plan to use a print as a simple poster or as a causal display item. They are printed on high quality Kodak ENDURA professional photo paper and have a high glossy finish.
Lustre prints offer the best of both glossy and matte prints:
* The color saturation of glossy
* The fingerprint resistance of matte
* Without the glare associated with glossy
To the right, both the lustre (left) and glossy (right) prints look good in the absence of glare.
But when the angle changes, glare is far more evident on the glossy print (right).
Lustre has a satin-like sheen and a modestly textured surface which you can see when the light angle is just right.
Lustre is printed on Kodak Supra Endura paper, which is heavier than matte and therefore more resistant to tearing.
Watercolor Giclée Prints
These prints are on a heavy, 310g paper with a subtle texture. This acid-free paper is 100% cotton fiber and is finished with a water-based protective spray. They are arguably the highest quality prints you can buy that are printed on paper. The reason for the increase in cost of these prints, is simply that the process used to print them (a 12 ink, large format printer) is expensive, but yield results well worth the cost. You will see exceptional color reproduction on an outstanding, archival paper with all images ordered in this way. The finish is similar to that of a matte print, so glare will not interfere with the image as it would on a glossy print.
